How to Add Facebook Share Button to Your Blog

facebook share pluginWith the success of the Tweetmeme plugin for WordPress, it’s hard to believe that they waited this long to create their own version, but Facebook finally got around to creating their own Facebook share plugin.

This one is pretty handy because like Tweetmeme, it also has a counter, and it makes it extremely easy for people to share your content on Facebook, which currently dominates the social media scene.

This plugin is created by a service called Appointy, but it uses Facebook’s code to implement it, so it’s legit. It will also be the most widely used plugin for Facebook, so people will be used to seeing and using this one.

It installs just like the Tweetmeme plugin, so if you’ve installed that one, you should have no issues installing the Facebook Share plugin.

1. Click on the dropdown next to the Plugins menu in the WordPress admin panel. From there, click the “Add New” link.

2. Type Facebook Share into the search box.

3. Click on the install button for the plugin called “Facebook Share (New) Button.”

4. Click Install Now

5. Activate the Plugin

6. Tweak the settings to your liking.

That’s it. Simple install, and very effective plugin. Enabling the Tweetmeme and the Facebook Share buttons will make it extremely easy and attractive for people to share your blog posts, which makes this a win-win for everyone.

If you don’t use Wordpress, or you prefer to add the code in a different position, then you can grab the install code straight from Facebook.
